Historical Comeback: Turkmenistan Team Chess Championship

The Chess Federation of Turkmenistan announces the Turkmenistan Team Chess Championship, to be held from March 22 to 28. This is a major event in the country's chess history: such a tournament is being held for the first time in several decades.

About the Tournament The goal is to promote team chess and involve various organizations and companies in the chess movement. The championship invites both professionals and enthusiasts to compete against the country's strongest players.

The winning team will earn the right to represent Turkmenistan internationally at World and Asian Team Championships. A special "Best Private Sector Team" trophy is also established.

Regulations and Team Composition

• Time Control: 90 minutes for the entire game with a 30-second increment per move.
• Team Composition:
  • 6 main players: Boards 1–4 — open, Board 5 — female, Board 6 — U20 player (born in 2006 or later).
  • 1 captain and 3 reserves.
• Legionnaires: Teams are allowed to include any players, even those not directly affiliated with the representing organization.
