HUAWEI unveils beta version of HarmonyOS 6 with AI agent Xiaoya

At the developer conference on June 20, HUAWEI unveiled the beta version of HarmonyOS 6, placing a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence integration. The new Harmony Agent Framework (HMAF) allows AI agents to be embedded directly into the system and manage tasks using natural language.

Key Features:

• AI agents can execute commands without manually launching apps

• Voice and text query handling (e.g., recommending podcasts)

• The AI model is trained on 20 trillion tokens

• More than 50 agents for personal and professional use cases

• Support for third-party developers

During the presentation, Huawei demonstrated a voice assistant named Xiaoya, which interacts with apps and refines user queries through dialogue. Huawei promises deeper AI integration compared to competitors’ solutions.
