Hydrogen Fuel is Expanding

Technological advancements are making hydrogen fuel more accessible as a clean energy source. Consequently, more investments are being directed toward hydrogen energy. The European Union has allocated 650 million euros to the program called "Connecting Europe Facility" (CEF). Out of these funds, 176 million euros will be directly allocated to the development of hydrogen infrastructure. This will contribute to the integration of the energy systems among member states.

It is intended that hydrogen fuel will primarily be used in steel, chemical, and other industrial production sectors as a replacement for fossil fuels. A similar project is being implemented in India as well. A facility with a production capacity of 1.95 GW will be built in the Kakinada region of Andhra Pradesh. A large portion of the hydrogen fuel produced there from clean sources will be converted into ammonia for export. The electrical energy required for the operation of the facility will be obtained from clean sources.
