In the biotechnology laboratory of the International Science and Technology Platform of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, the main directions of modern agrobiotechnologies, including issues related to genetically modified organisms (GMOs), are being studied on a scientific basis. The work of the laboratory is led by Altyn Rahmanova, and the team of specialists also includes Durdymyrat Gadamov.

Currently, in the era of rapid development of bioengineering and digital technologies, biosafety, ecosystem protection, and food independence are of strategic importance for any state. Therefore, strengthening control in agricultural production and the raw material market is one of the most important tasks.

Main Directions of Scientific Research:

  • Biosafety and Security: Research work is aimed at preventing possible biological and ecological risks for humans and animals, as well as preserving natural biodiversity.

  • Control and Analysis: Analytical protocols are being developed to identify and precisely determine the origin of agricultural raw materials, seed stock, and animal feed.

  • Scientific and Academic Base: At the current stage, this work has a fundamental research character and serves to form a future base of professional specialists and a research foundation.
