
In Turkmenistan, the growth of gross domestic product amounted to 6.3 percent in January. This was noted in the report of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers H. Geldimyradov at the regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held yesterday via a digital system.
According to the “Watan” news program, during the reporting period the growth of gross domestic product amounted to 6.3 percent. In particular, the growth rate in industry was 2 percent, in construction — 6 percent, in the transport and communications sector — 9.3 percent, in trade — 8.2 percent, in agriculture — 2 percent, and in the services sector — 8.5 percent. Compared with the corresponding period of last year, in January of the current year the total volume of produced goods increased by 10 percent, ensuring positive production indicators across the sectors of the economy. During the reporting period, retail trade turnover increased by 10.1 percent compared with last year. As of January of this year, the revenue part of the state budget plan was fulfilled at 102.2 percent, while the expenditure part was fulfilled at 97.1 percent. The report noted that wages, pensions, state allowances and student stipends at budget-funded and self-supporting state enterprises were financed on time. After hearing the report, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of continuing to improve the work of the economic, financial and banking sectors and instructed the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers to ensure the successful implementation of the tasks set for 2026 to develop the country, as well as to continue efforts to maintain stable GDP growth rates and develop sectors of the economy.
