
Recently, the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University jointly with the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan organized an Informatics Olympiad among 11th and 12th grade students of secondary schools across the country.
The Olympiad is held annually to implement the objectives set out in the “Concept for the Development of the Digital Education System in Turkmenistan” and the “Concept for Improving the Teaching of Natural and Exact Sciences in Turkmenistan,” to introduce innovations into the education system, and to identify talented youth among secondary school students.
The Olympiad contributes to training young people capable of analyzing modern scientific and practical issues, enhancing their knowledge in informatics, strengthening cooperation between secondary and higher educational institutions, and guiding school students toward professional skills.
The competition was conducted in three stages in an individual format. The first stage took place on January 26 in districts (cities). On January 30, the second stage was organized in Ashgabat, Arkadag, and the regions, where the best participants qualified for the final stage.
To participate in the final round, talented students from all parts of the country arrived in the capital. At the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University, they visited an exhibition of scientific and project works by young scientists and students and became acquainted with the university’s faculties, specialties, scientific clubs, and the conditions created for studying natural and exact sciences, including informatics.
One hundred students participated in the final stage. The winners were awarded first, second, and third degree diplomas, medals, and commemorative gifts.
Among students up to the 11th grade, 3 first places, 6 second places, and 8 third places were awarded. First places were won by Jalaleddin Nurkulyyev and Khojamuhammet Hydyrov (Secondary School No. 86, Ashgabat) and Shasenem Muhammetmyradova (Secondary School No. 32, Sakarçäge district, Mary region).
Among 12th grade students, 4 first places, 6 second places, and 8 third places were awarded. First place winners included Yhlas Amanmyradov (School No. 86, Ashgabat), Atageldi Allaberenov (Specialized School No. 21 for Young Physicists and Mathematicians, Dashoguz), Mergen Annayev (School No. 31, Sakarçäge district, Mary region), and Imammuhammet Purmuradov (Olymp Sports School, Ashgabat).
The Olympiad provided an opportunity to reveal students’ intellectual potential and abilities. Participants demonstrated a high level of preparation in the subject.
