
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Hojamyrat Geldimyradow reported at the regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on Friday in a digital format that, compared to the corresponding period of last year, total production in January of this year increased by 10 percent.
According to the official media of Turkmenistan, during the reporting period the growth of gross domestic product amounted to 6.3 percent. In particular, growth rates reached 2 percent in industry, 6 percent in construction, 9.3 percent in the transport and communications sector, 8.2 percent in trade, 2 percent in agriculture, and 8.5 percent in the services sector.
The Deputy Prime Minister also stated that retail trade turnover increased by 10.1 percent, while the revenue side of the state budget plan was fulfilled by 102.2 percent and the expenditure side by 97.1 percent.
As noted in the report, during the reporting period wages, pensions, state benefits and student stipends at budget-funded institutions and state enterprises operating on a self-financing basis were paid on time.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow, having heard the report, emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to improve the work of the economic, financial and banking sectors.
In this regard, the Head of State instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to ensure the successful implementation of the tasks set for 2026 in developing the country, to maintain stable GDP growth rates and to advance the work being carried out to develop various sectors.
