Largest AI Funding Round Ever: OpenAI Raises $100 Billion at $850 Billion Valuation

OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT, is close to finalizing a deal to raise over $100 billion at a valuation exceeding $850 billion, according to Bloomberg. This marks the largest funding round in AI history, highlighting unprecedented investor interest in generative AI.

The first tranche includes Amazon (up to $50B), SoftBank ($30B), Nvidia ($20B), and Microsoft. Venture and sovereign wealth funds may join later.

The valuation increased from the initially expected $830B to over $850B, with a pre-money valuation around $730B. The capital will accelerate AI model development, expand cloud infrastructure, and strengthen global market leadership.
