In 2026, the silk producers of Lebap province achieved a great labor victory. Instead of the set plan of 1,010 tons, the specialists of the region delivered nearly 1,020 tons of silk cocoons to the state, fulfilling their contractual obligations with surplus.
This high indicator became possible as a result of thorough preparation for the season in the region, precise organization of all works, correct compliance with agrotechnical standards in developing the fodder base (mulberry trees), and creation of proper conditions for rearing silkworms. In the achieved common success, the timely signing of contracts with experienced tenant silk producers and the consistent support of the specialists of the "Lebapwelaýatýüpek" production association played an important role.
The example shown by the districts located in the eastern territory of the province also became a strong impetus for other silk producers of the region. They were the first in the country to start caring for silkworms and were among the first to successfully fulfill the plan for delivering valuable raw materials to the state. Currently, the majority of the districts of the eastern region have already overfulfilled their contractual obligations, but the process of delivering cocoons to the state still continues now.
This season, contracts were signed with a total of nearly 22,000 smoothly working silk producers across the province, and 27,656 boxes of silkworm eggs (grena) were distributed to them. Here, the highest indicators belong to Charjew, Halach, Sayat, and Danew districts.
The high yield of product obtained from each box of silkworms clearly proves that labor was organized at an exemplary level across the entire province.
