Petra Dachtler, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Turkmenistan, visited ERDEM, a company that supplies modern German agricultural machinery to Turkmenistan and provides technical maintenance services. This was reported on the official website of the German diplomatic mission.
During the visit, the ambassador learned about the company’s activities, German technologies used in agriculture and their importance for production processes. Petra Dachtler highly appreciated the work of the company’s specialists in improving combine harvesters and tractors to suit Turkmenistan’s local climatic conditions, as well as offering appropriate solutions that take into account the specific needs of farmers.
“I am very pleased that German experience and innovative technologies are making an important contribution to the development of agriculture in Turkmenistan. I was particularly impressed by the work of the company’s specialists, who use innovative ideas to adapt combine harvesters and tractors to local climatic conditions and find solutions that meet farmers’ needs,” Petra Dachtler noted.
During her meeting with the company’s director, Sary Atayev, the ambassador discussed the key challenges facing Turkmenistan’s agricultural sector and its development prospects. The importance of improving farmers’ professional skills in operating agricultural machinery, involving them in specialised training courses and enhancing students’ knowledge was also emphasised.
During the visit, Petra Dachtler also had the opportunity to drive a CLAAS tractor. She expressed her gratitude to the company’s management for providing this opportunity.
