A new natural gas flow was obtained at the "Magtymguly" field within the "Block 1" contractual area in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea.
This production milestone stems from the long-standing cooperation between the "Türkmennebit" State Concern and Malaysia's "PETRONAS Charigali" company, marking 30 years of joint partnership in 2026.
According to tngizt.gov.tm, an exemplary production infrastructure has been established in the Caspian Sea and its coastal zones over these three decades, including:
Construction of 5 modern offshore platforms
Drilling of nearly 40 exploration, evaluation, and production wells
Total cumulative extraction of over 44 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 16 million tons of liquid hydrocarbons
Commissioning of major infrastructure including a gas processing plant and a coastal gas terminal
Well-testing and development operations remain in their initial phases, with production volumes expected to increase significantly. Future plans also include developing Blocks 19 and 20 in the Caspian Sea and conducting 2D seismic surveys across Blocks 11, 12, 13, and 14.
