Marian Weltevreden, Head of the European Akhal-Teke Horse Association, has been awarded the honorary title of "Honored Horse Breeder of Turkmenistan."

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow signed the corresponding document at the XVI meeting of the International Akhal-Teke Horse Association.

In accordance with the document signed by the President of Turkmenistan during this meeting—to which the "Ata Watan Media" group was also invited—several citizens of our country and foreign states were awarded the honorary title of "Honored Horse Breeder of Turkmenistan."

Taking into account their contributions to spreading the glory of Akhal-Teke horses—our national wealth, pride, and marvelous symbol of beauty—and to the development of the horse breeding industry, Marian Weltevreden, Head of the European Akhal-Teke Horse Association; Liu Shuning, head of a horse breeding company from China; and Estonian horse breeder Kaido Puusep were awarded the honorary title of "Honored Horse Breeder of Turkmenistan."

As is known, from September 4 to 6, 2026, the World Championship for beauty and equestrian sports competitions among Akhal-Teke horses was held in the city of Kronenberg, Kingdom of the Netherlands. These competitions are of particular significance as the first international event of this scale organized in the European space in the history of Akhal-Teke horse breeding.

The European Akhal-Teke Horse Association also provided close assistance in holding the World Championship. The holding of this event contributed to further enhancing the international prestige of Akhal-Teke horses and widely promoting Turkmen horse breeding culture and national horse-breeding traditions throughout the world.
