At the end of March 2026, residents of Turkmenistan will enjoy four consecutive days of rest due to several holidays occurring back-to-back.
On March 20, Oraza Bayramy will be observed to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan. The date was determined according to the official calendar for suhoor and iftar approved by the Mufti of Turkmenistan.
On March 21 and 22, the country will celebrate the National Spring Holiday — International Day of Nowruz, one of Turkmenistan's primary state holidays.
As March 22 falls on a Sunday in 2026, the day off is transferred to Monday, March 23. This adjustment is made in accordance with Part 2 of Article 81 of the Labor Code of Turkmenistan, which stipulates that if a holiday coincides with a weekly day of rest, the day off is moved to the following working day.
Consequently, March 20, 21, 22, and 23 will be declared non-working days. Citizens will have four consecutive days of rest, and the work week will resume on Tuesday, March 24. Traditionally, a relevant Decree regarding the holiday schedule is issued by the President of Turkmenistan.
