
On May 22 of this year, the next meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will be held in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan.
This was stated by the Deputy Secretary General of the CIS, Igor Petrishenko, during a conversation with journalists at a meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS in Minsk, as reported by the "BELTA" news agency.
Currently, it is proposed to include 11 issues on the agenda of the Council of Heads of Government meeting related to economic cooperation, congress and exhibition activities, development of transport corridors, and digitalization. Additionally, the meeting plans to consider granting the status of the Cultural Capital of the CIS to the city of Minsk for 2027 and to the city of Karaganda for 2028.
The meeting will be held as part of Turkmenistan's chairmanship of the CIS.
