MediaTek Officially Announces Dimensity 8450 Mobile Processor — Successor to Dimensity 8400

MediaTek has officially unveiled its new mobile processor, the Dimensity 8450, which succeeds the Dimensity 8400. The new chip is built using TSMC’s second-generation 4nm process and is targeted at mid-range and upper mid-range devices.

Key specifications:

• CPU: 1×Cortex-X4 (3.25 GHz), 3×Cortex-A720 (3.0 GHz), 4×Cortex-A520 (2.1 GHz)

• GPU: Mali-G720 MC7, 1300 MHz

• Camera support: Up to 320 MP, zero-latency HDR

• NPU: NPU 880 with Agentic AI Engine for running AI models locally

• Power efficiency: UltraSave 3.0+ technology in the 5G modem

The processor is designed for mobile gaming, photo and video content, and offline use of generative AI without the need for cloud connectivity.

The OPPO Reno14 Pro is the first device to feature the Dimensity 8450. More models featuring the chip are expected to be released in the coming months.
