Meeting held between the Consul General of Turkmenistan and the Governor of Balkh Province of Afghanistan

On February 9, 2026, a meeting was held between the Consul General of Turkmenistan in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, B. Kabayev (Mazar-i-Sharif), and the Governor of Afghanistan’s Balkh Province, Mohammad Yusuf Wafa. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged detailed views on issues related to the development of cooperation in trade and economic, transport and transit, and energy sectors, as well as on the implementation of large infrastructure projects carried out as a result of friendly relations.

The parties also discussed events being held in our country dedicated to the slogan of 2026, “Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan — the Land of the Winged Horse,” as well as events marking the glorious 35th anniversary of the Independence of Turkmenistan.
