Meeting of the Hero-Arkadag with the President of the People's Republic of China

Yesterday, as part of the friendly visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, to China, an official meeting was held with the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping.

At the venue, the President of the PRC warmly welcomed the National Leader of the Turkmen people. Following the official photo ceremony in front of the national flags of the two countries, negotiations took place between Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Xi Jinping.

Xi Jinping warmly greeted the distinguished guest and expressed gratitude to the Hero-Arkadag for accepting the invitation, noting that this visit is seen in China as a clear symbol of friendship and comprehensive cooperation between our countries. He took the opportunity to convey warm greetings and best wishes to the honorable President. President Xi Jinping congratulated the Hero-Arkadag and the Head of State on the upcoming Nowruz holiday, mentioning that today marks the final day of the Chinese New Year, and the coincidence of these two holidays holds special significance.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people expressed gratitude for the kind words and hospitality, noting that he views this meeting as a sign of friendship, cooperation, and mutual respect. He also conveyed greetings on behalf of the honorable President.

It was noted during the meeting that our countries coordinate efforts within the UN and other international organizations, as well as the "Central Asia – China" format. Relations between Turkmenistan and the PRC have been elevated to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership. "Today, a stable and reliable system of interstate relations has been established. These relations have stood the test of time," stated the Hero-Arkadag.

The fuel and energy sector remains a priority. The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty highlighted the importance of joint projects for the development of the "Galkynysh" gas field. Opportunities in transport and logistics were also discussed, specifically the harmonization of Turkmenistan’s "Revival of the Great Silk Road" strategy with China’s "Belt and Road" initiative.

At the end of the meeting, an exchange of gifts took place. On behalf of the honorable President, an Akhal-Teke horse named Gadyrly was presented to President Xi Jinping. Xi Jinping accepted the gift with gratitude, noting that China holds great respect for Akhal-Teke horses and recalled that 12 years ago, he was gifted another stallion named Gahryman.
