Meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea at the MFA of Turkmenistan

On March 4, 2026, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Ahmet Gurbanov, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Public Diplomacy of the Republic of Korea, Lim Sang-Woo. This was reported on the official website of the MFA of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the diplomats noted the high level of development of Turkmen-Korean relations in the political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

The parties exchanged views on important issues of the international and regional agenda. In particular, the situation in the Middle East was touched upon, and the importance of joining efforts to ensure peace, security, and stability in the region was emphasized.

The interlocutors paid special attention to the preparation for planned visits and events at the highest and high levels. In this regard, the importance of holding Turkmen-Korean political and consular consultations, viewed as an effective tool for the systematic discussion of all bilateral agenda issues, was noted.

Taking this opportunity, Lim Sang-Woo expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for its assistance in providing transit passage for citizens of the Republic of Korea arriving from Iran.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to further expand the multilateral dialogue between the two countries.
