Meetings of Candidates for the Mejlis, Local Executive Bodies, and Local Self-Government Bodies with Voters Have Begun

Active preparations are underway in Turkmenistan for the elections scheduled for March 29 for members of the halk maslahaty of newly created districts, as well as for deputies of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, and members of provincial, district, and city halk maslahaty and Gengesh (councils) to fill vacant seats. Conducting this socio-political event on the basis of openness and broad competition will be another clear manifestation of the further strengthening of ancient democratic principles in the life of Turkmen society.

In accordance with the norms of the current electoral legislation of Turkmenistan, the pre-election season continues in all corners of the country. During this period, candidates for deputies of the national parliament, members of local executive bodies, and local self-government bodies, along with their authorized representatives, are holding meetings with voters. Voters are getting acquainted with the candidates' biographies, professional and organizational skills, and the main directions of their electoral programs. Their primary goal is to ensure the prosperity of our Motherland and to improve the living standards of the people.
