The CIS Council of Heads of State and the Council of Heads of Government, to be held in Turkmenistan in 2026, will make a significant contribution to further strengthening cooperation within the Commonwealth. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Mahri Bashimova, during a formal reception at the Embassy of the Russian Federation dedicated to the Day of Diplomatic Worker of the RF.
"This year, Turkmenistan chairs the CIS, and in this regard, a number of important events involving member countries are planned. I believe that the meetings of the Council of Heads of State and the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth to be organized in our country will make an important contribution to further strengthening cooperation in this format," M. Bashimova noted.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that a strong sense of mutual trust has been established between Turkmenistan and Russia. "This allows us to consistently strengthen cooperation both at the interstate level and within the framework of major international organizations," she stressed.
According to M. Bashimova, high-level personal relations between the leaders of the two states are the main pillar of success. "Regular high-level meetings provide a great impetus to the intensification of our joint work across a wide range of areas," the diplomat added.
