The international training workshop titled "High-Level Dialogue on Diplomacy in the Sphere of World Health," which began its work at the "Yyldyz" Hotel in our capital, became an important step in implementing our country's foreign policy. This event once again confirmed Turkmenistan's commitment to the principles of positive neutrality and humanism, creating an effective platform for uniting the efforts of the global community.
Special attention of the dialogue participants was focused on the speech of Oksana Domenti, the representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) to the European Union and director of the "AHEAD" program. In an interview with a correspondent of the "Altyn Asyr" electronic newspaper during a break, O. Domenti highly praised Turkmenistan's role as a strategic partner of WHO.
According to the expert, today Turkmenistan acts not just as a participant in global affairs, but as an active driving subject. "We highly appreciate Turkmenistan's role in advancing the tasks of medical diplomacy. The country consistently uses diplomatic tools to achieve specific results at the regional and global levels," – O. Domenti emphasized.
The WHO representative recalled the country's key achievements that have become part of the global agenda. These include:
O. Domenti also specifically highlighted the significance of Turkmenistan's current chairmanship in the Commonwealth of Independent States. According to her, our country's example proves that the scale of a state's resources is not the determining factor if there is a clear strategy and a will for cooperation.
"Turkmenistan, along with the other 53 countries of the WHO European region, participated in the development of the organization's five main priority areas. We look forward to Ashgabat's further active participation in solving the issues of non-communicable diseases and advancing the environmental agenda," – the WHO representative noted.
The expert called the current "High-Level Dialogue" held in Ashgabat an invaluable contribution to the development of world medicine and expressed confidence that the results of the conference would serve as a basis for new joint projects under the auspices of WHO.
