An opportunity to participate in a new international competition has opened for foreign citizens with a good command of the Russian language. The 2026 World Championship of the Russian Language aims to bring together talented youth from various countries around the world.

Foreign citizens and stateless persons are eligible to participate in the competition. Participating teams must consist of 4 members, including:

  • three foreign citizens or stateless persons aged between 16 and 35;

  • one mentor.

The initial stages of the competition will be held online from July to October 2026. Based on the results of the qualifying rounds, the 30 strongest teams will be invited to Moscow to participate in the final stage.

In the final stage, participants can look forward to:

  • face-to-face competitions;

  • a cultural program;

  • meetings and discussions with representatives from various countries.

The winners of the competition will be awarded the title of "World Champion of the Russian Language," a special trophy, and the opportunity to study at a Russian university under preferential terms provided by the Government of the Russian Federation.

The final stage is scheduled to take place in Moscow from November 19 to 23, 2026.

Participation in the competition is free of charge, and applications are accepted until October 1, 2026.
