Preparations are underway to resume direct cargo and commercial flights between Pakistan and Turkmenistan in the near future. This was stated by Pakistan's Ambassador to Ashgabat, Faryal Leghari, in her article dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Independence. Her remarks were published in the "Neutral Turkmenistan" newspaper.

As the ambassador noted, along with the resumption of direct air communications between the two countries, developing interregional transport and logistics links through road and rail systems is also of great importance.

"Pakistan and Turkmenistan, apart from direct flights, can achieve great benefits by focusing on interregional connectivity through road and rail systems," Faryal Leghari noted.

The diplomat stated that both sides are ready to resume cargo and commercial flights in the near future.

According to the ambassador, the establishment of direct air links will not only help develop relations between the peoples of the two countries but also expand bilateral trade and strengthen cooperation in healthcare, education, and sports.

Faryal Leghari also recalled that the Islamic Republic of Pakistan was one of the first states to recognize the independence of Turkmenistan. According to her, the diplomatic relations established during the period of Turkmenistan's formation as an independent state serve as the foundation for friendly relations and regular dialogue between the two countries to this day.

The diplomat also emphasized that Turkmenistan's policy of permanent neutrality and Pakistan's views aimed at ensuring peace, security, and stability in the region harmonize with each other.
