
Tomorrow, our country welcomes the first day of the sacred Eid al-Adha (Gurban Bayramy), which is one of the greatest and most generous celebrations of the entire Islamic world. According to the Hijri-lunar calendar, this holiday begins on the 71st day after the completion of the blessed month of Ramadan (Oraza)—the symbol of abundance and generosity—and leads the human soul towards purity, unity, and charity. During these blessed days, millions of Muslims from all corners of the world, including pilgrims from Turkmenistan, gather in the holy sites of Islam—the cities of Mecca and Medina—to perform their Hajj duty.
In accordance with the Decree of the Honorable President Serdar Berdimuhamedow, Eid al-Adha will be widely celebrated at the state level on May 27-28-29 this year. Those days were declared public holidays so that our people can organize the holiday with a high spirit according to warm and noble traditions.
