President approved work plans of vice-premiers for 2026

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via digital communication. At the first meeting of the year proclaimed as “Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan – the land of rapid progress”, several issues related to state affairs were discussed. This was reported in the “Watan” news program.

At the beginning, Chairperson of the Mejlis D. Gulmanova was given the floor. She reported on the work carried out to strengthen Turkmenistan’s legislative and legal framework. It was noted that in the working groups established under the Mejlis, activities are under way to modernize current legislation in line with the requirements of the time regarding the protection of human rights and freedoms, migration issues, protection of fishing and hydro-geological resources, further social and economic development of the country and improvement of the population’s living standards.

The Head of State identified the preparation of new draft laws that meet current requirements as an important task and instructed that work in this direction be continued.

After that, the vice-premiers presented reports on their work plans for 2026 in the sectors under their supervision.

After hearing the reports, the President of Turkmenistan gave specific instructions to the relevant leaders concerning the activities in various sectors of the national economy, upcoming events, further sectoral development and international cooperation. He also approved the work plans for 2026 and instructed to implement them.

Other important state issues were also considered at the meeting, and relevant decisions were adopted.
