
On March 4, in Dushanbe, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, received the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Tangryguly Atahallyyew. This was reported by the official press service of the President of Tajikistan.
During the talks, the current state and future prospects of the strategic partnership between the two countries, as well as the priority areas for its further development, were discussed.
Emomali Rahmon noted the consistent growth of bilateral cooperation and emphasized that there are great opportunities for expanding partnership in the fields of trade, industry, transport and logistics, as well as in the agricultural sector.
The parties expressed interest in activating cultural and humanitarian relations, including sports and tourism, youth policy, and cultural, scientific, and educational exchanges. The role of the Intergovernmental Commission as the main mechanism for the practical implementation of mutually reached agreements was also specially emphasized.
During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on maintaining a regular interstate dialogue and coordinating interaction within the framework of international and regional organizations.
The Vice-Prime Minister arrived in Dushanbe to participate in the next meeting of the joint Turkmen-Tajik intergovernmental commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation.
