The President of Turkmenistan signed a Decree aimed at the successful implementation of the tasks set forth in the "National Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan in 2022–2052" and the "Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country in 2022–2028." The Decree is also intended to ensure the socio-economic development of the country and achieve dynamic regional growth in 2026—designated as the year "Independent, Neutrally Constant Turkmenistan—The Land of Horse-Swift Prosperity."

- Strengthening the economic potential of the Motherland and utilizing the full capacity of industrial enterprises.
- Encouraging export-oriented and import-substituting production.
- Continuing the introduction of modern digital technologies and a "green" economy.
- Broadly supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, creating new jobs in the regions, and further improving the living standards of citizens.
In accordance with the document, the "Program for the Socio-Economic Development and Investment of Turkmenistan in 2026" was approved. Ministries, departmental administrations, and the hakimliks (governorates) of the provinces, Ashgabat, and Arkadag city were instructed to ensure the proper fulfillment of the Program within the established timeframes.

Agricultural and Environmental Initiatives
Silk Production: To develop the silkworm industry, the "Turkmenpagta" (Turkmen Cotton) State Concern and provincial hakimliks were instructed to ensure the production of 2,100 tons of raw silk cocoons in 2026.
National Tree Planting Program: To enrich the country's nature, the President signed a Decree for the planting of 3 million saplings (deciduous, coniferous, fruit trees, and grapes) in 2026:
- 1.5 million saplings by ministries, departments, and the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag.
- 1.5 million saplings by provincial hakimliks. The document mandates the use of drip irrigation for these plantings.
Competitions and International Events
District of the Year: The Koneurgench district of Dashoguz province was declared the winner of the national competition for the best social, economic, and cultural indicators for 2025. The hakimlik of Koneurgench district was awarded a prize of 1 million US dollars. A similar competition has been announced for the year 2026.
International Events and 35th Anniversary of Independence: An organizing committee was established to high-level international events in 2026, including the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, the 35th Anniversary of Turkmenistan's Independence, and Turkmenistan's Chairmanship of the CIS in 2026.
Construction and Investment Monitoring
The President signed an Order to ensure the high-quality and timely completion of major industrial and social facilities scheduled for opening in 2026. The Ministry of Construction and Architecture was instructed to strengthen quality control, while the Ministry of Finance and Economy will provide monthly reports on construction progress to the Cabinet of Ministers.
