President: The Supply of Electricity, Natural Gas and Drinking Water to the Population Must Be Kept Under Control

Yesterday, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahallyyev and the governors of the regions. According to the “Watan” news program, the meeting focused on issues related to ongoing work in the country’s agricultural sector and the regions.

The regional governors reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural activities. It was noted that wheat fields are currently being maintained in accordance with agrotechnical standards, including the application of mineral fertilizers. As part of preparations for cotton sowing, plowing operations are nearing completion, while land leveling, ridge formation and soil enrichment with mineral fertilizers are continuing. To provide farmers with high-quality seeds, cotton seed preparation is underway, and agricultural machinery and equipment intended for sowing are being repaired and properly maintained. At the same time, important measures are being taken to prepare land plots and seeds for the spring planting of potatoes and vegetable crops. In Mary Region, necessary steps are being implemented to harvest sugar beet crops without losses and to process them efficiently. Reports were also presented on the proper operation of heating systems in residential buildings, administrative and social facilities, measures to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity, natural gas and clean drinking water to the population, as well as on the progress of construction projects.

After hearing the reports, the President once again emphasized the importance of properly carrying out seasonal agricultural work. The Head of State stressed the need to observe agrotechnical standards when conducting plowing and leveling operations on cotton fields, to ensure proper implementation of irrigation water retention measures in Lebap Region, to adequately supply cotton producers with high-quality seeds, to prepare agricultural machinery and equipment for the spring sowing season, and to ensure proper care of wheat fields. He instructed to ensure thorough preparation for the spring planting of potatoes and vegetable crops. In addition, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered strict control over settlement payments between service enterprises and cotton and wheat producers in the regions, and between service enterprises and sugar beet producers in Mary Region. The President also issued specific instructions to ensure the stable operation of heating systems in residential buildings, schools and kindergartens, as well as to keep the supply of electricity, natural gas and drinking water to the population under constant control.
