The "Medeniýet we syýahat" (Culture and Tourism) magazine of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan is organizing a railway excursion to the historical monuments of Ancient Merv, scheduled for August 19–20, 2026.

This trip is part of the publication’s ongoing efforts to promote domestic tourism in Turkmenistan. Beyond Ancient Merv, the magazine offers curated tours to the Awaza National Tourist Zone, UNESCO World Heritage sites, the Köýtendag Mountains, and other notable regional destinations.

Tour participants will be provided with hotel accommodations and local transportation services. Organizers selected train travel as the primary mode of transit for the journey to Ancient Merv.
