Raşid Meredow Held a Phone Conversation with the U.S. Secretary of State

Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Raşid Meredow held a phone conversation on Tuesday with U.S. Secretary of State Marko Rubio and U.S. Special Representative Sergio Gor, according to a U.S. State Department press release.

During the conversation, the parties discussed regional security issues as well as economic development trends in Central Asia.

They also exchanged views on priority areas of cooperation. U.S. Secretary of State Marko Rubio reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to further develop cooperation with Turkmenistan, including expanding business relations and strengthening bilateral ties.

Earlier in January, U.S. Special Representative Sergio Gor and U.S. Secretary of the Army Daniel Driskol visited Turkmenistan.
