
On February 24, 2026, the Consul General of Turkmenistan in Istanbul, O. Jumanazarov, held a meeting with the Rector of Medipol University of the Republic of Türkiye, Bahadır Kürşat Güntürk.
The meeting aimed to develop cooperation in the field of education and expand practical relations in bilateral scientific-academic and medical fields.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on activities in the higher education system, international cooperation opportunities, and issues related to the education of Turkmen youth in Türkiye. Rector B. Güntürk noted that the university currently has a wide international cooperation network, including the systematic increase of opportunities created for foreign students.
The Consul General, in turn, stated that the state attaches great importance to Turkmen youth receiving education in world-class educational centers. He also emphasized that Turkmen students successfully studying in Turkish higher education institutions contribute to the strengthening of friendly relations between the two countries.
The meeting discussed issues such as creating new opportunities for Turkmen students, expanding scholarship programs, establishing faculty and student exchange projects, and developing joint research activities.
The parties noted the importance of concluding relevant agreements in the future and continuing cooperation through specific programs. This cooperation in the field of education and experience will serve to further strengthen the strategic relations between Turkmenistan and Türkiye and open new opportunities for the younger generation.
