The initial registration period for the H-1B work visa for Fiscal Year 2027 will run from March 4 to March 19, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced.
Registration opens on March 4 at 12:00 PM Eastern Time and closes on March 19 at 12:00 PM. During this period, employers and their representatives must register each candidate electronically through their USCIS online account and pay a $215 fee for each registration.
Employers who do not yet have a USCIS online account must create one. Representatives can pre-add candidates to their accounts, but candidate information entry and payment can only be done after March 4.
USCIS stated that the selection will take place after the registration period ends, and notifications will be sent through USCIS online accounts by March 31, 2026. Only selected candidates will be allowed to proceed with H-1B visa applications.
Notably, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has implemented a new rule changing the H-1B selection process, prioritizing higher-skilled workers.
