Respect and Honor to Women

The purpose of the fundamental reforms carried out in all sectors of the economy in our country is to modernize the nation and ensure the comprehensive perfection of the prosperous life and well-being of the people. In the current era, along with large, medium, and small enterprises, entrepreneurial activities based on family and individual labor are actively conducted in the economy of Turkmenistan. In accordance with the Law of Turkmenistan "On State Support for Small and Medium Entrepreneurship," the number of private owners, who are the driving force of our country's economy, is steadily increasing. The fact that women hold leadership positions in legislative and state administration bodies signifies the further strengthening of the role of Turkmen women in society, as well as the special role they play not only in raising the younger generation worthily but also in ensuring the dynamic and modern development of society. Today, a woman is a scientist, an entrepreneur, a defender of the Motherland, and a statesperson. They make their worthy contribution to the prosperity of our country. Businesswomen occupy a significant place not only in the economic sector of the country but also in its socio-political life. A businesswomen's center also operates under the Women's Union of Turkmenistan. The members of this center, along with conducting promotional and educational activities among women working in the country's private sector, show high activity in attracting Turkmen women to entrepreneurship and disseminating best practices in this field. As we all know, on the eve of International Women's Day on March 8, which is celebrated with great festivities every year in our country, women entrepreneurs actively participate in the "Woman of the Year" contest announced by the Central Council of the Women's Union of Turkmenistan, along with representatives of all sectors. This time, women working in various sectors of our economy competed for the title of "Mentor Woman of the Year." In this contest, in the category "For contribution to the development of the country's market economy and entrepreneurship," the title of "Entrepreneur Woman of the Year" was awarded to Mahri Jojukova, a member of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan from the city of Mary, Mary province.
