
Yesterday, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Galuzin.
According to the Turkmen foreign ministry, during the talks the parties reaffirmed their commitment to further deepening Turkmen-Russian strategic cooperation. The decisive role of regular high-level visits and meetings in the development of bilateral relations was emphasized.
The Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation highly praised Turkmenistan’s activities on the international stage carried out in accordance with its status of permanent neutrality.
Key issues of bilateral cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres were discussed during the meeting.
The active level of interaction between Turkmenistan and Russia in the international arena, particularly within the framework of the United Nations, was noted. Among other formats of cooperation, special attention was given to the Commonwealth of Independent States, where Turkmenistan holds the chairmanship this year.
The sides also exchanged views on important issues on the international and regional agenda.
