Samsung Achieves 3 Gbps at 7 GHz with Quadrupled Antenna Density in 6G Trial

Samsung has reached a major milestone in 6G development. In joint trials with KT Corporation and Keysight Technologies, the company successfully demonstrated X-MIMO technology, achieving peak download speeds of 3 Gbps in the 7 GHz band under real outdoor conditions.

The test used a prototype base station equipped with 256 digital ports. By integrating four times more antenna modules per unit area compared to current 5G systems, Samsung maintained wide coverage while dramatically increasing throughput.

The 7 GHz spectrum is considered a promising “sweet spot” for future 6G networks, balancing coverage and ultra-high data speeds.
