Scooter Season 2026: Whoosh Introduces Number Recognition and Simplified SMS Rental

As reported by Ahmet Atayev, leading IT columnist for Amul Info, the kick-sharing service Whoosh has revamped its user experience for the 2026 season. Users can now start a ride by simply pointing their camera at the scooter's identification number, bypassing the need to scan a QR code. If multiple scooters are nearby, the app will instantly display the battery level and range for each unit.

To address connectivity issues, Whoosh has automated its SMS rental system — scanning a code now pre-fills the required message automatically. Additionally, the support chat has introduced quick-response categories for parking, payments, and trip endings. To enjoy these improvements, users must update the Whoosh app before their next ride.
