A meeting was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Kazakhstan with Omurzak Ozganbayev, a member of the Council of Elders of Kazakhstan and member of the Senate, as reported on the embassy's official website.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Ozganbayev warmly recalled his visit to Ashgabat, where he participated in the 15th meeting of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), held under the chairmanship of Turkmenistan on March 11–13, 2024.

During the discussion, the parties exchanged views regarding the upcoming session of the People's Council (Halk Maslahaty) of Turkmenistan, scheduled to take place on September 23 in Ashgabat. It was also noted that parliamentary elections for the Kurultai will be held in the Republic of Kazakhstan on August 23.

Participants emphasized that despite differences in state structure, both Turkmenistan's Halk Maslahaty and Kazakhstan's new national body, the People's Council (Halyk Kurultay), share deep historical and cultural roots that trace back to ancient Turkic traditions of governance and public consultation.
