The President of the Republic of Korea, Lee Jae-myung, sent a letter of gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, for assistance in evacuating the country's citizens from Iran. This was reported by "The Korea Times" on Monday, citing the Blue House (Cheong Wa Dae), the presidential administration of the Republic of Korea.
As noted in the letter, as a result of cooperation with the Turkmen side, 25 South Korean citizens in Iran, as well as four Iranian citizens who are family members of the Koreans, safely crossed the border and arrived in Turkmenistan last week.
Lee Jae-myung stated that the support provided by Turkmenistan during the evacuation of citizens from Iran confirms the high level of friendship and trust between the two countries.
Additionally, more than 200 people from 16 countries, including Central Asian states, China, Russia, the USA, Finland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia, entered Turkmenistan from neighboring Iran.
