Specialists of the "Dashoguzpagta" production association are preparing cotton seeds for the upcoming sowing season

Currently, at the cotton ginning enterprises of the "Dashoguzpagta" production association, work is underway to prepare seeds of medium-staple cotton varieties for the upcoming sowing season. This year, several new varieties of the valuable crop will be planted in the region for the first time. Among them is the "Dashoguz-150" cotton variety. This variety was developed by Ch. Seyitmyradov, the head of the cotton selection and seed production department in the province under the Agricultural Research Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan. The new variety fully meets modern crop requirements in all key indicators. It is disease-resistant, and its fiber yield and strength are high. Also among the first seeds being prepared for mass sowing in the region is the "Jeyhun-16" medium-staple cotton variety, which showed good results in trials. To date, at cotton ginning enterprises, under strict quality control, more than 12 thousand tons of cotton seeds meeting soil-climatic conditions and requirements have been produced. Every year in the province, both fuzzy and delinted cotton seeds are prepared for sowing. Delinted seeds are mainly prepared using the most modern technologies at a seed cotton processing plant in the Koneurgench district, which has an annual capacity of 40 thousand tons and a terminal designed to store 10 thousand tons of cotton at a time.
