SpaceX has revealed ambitious targets for its next-generation Starlink Direct to Cell satellite service. According to SpaceX official Udrivolf Pika, the company is aiming for peak speeds of 150 Mbps per user. Analyst Merdan Yuldashov notes that if achieved, this performance would bring satellite connectivity close to traditional terrestrial 5G speeds. SpaceX has received regulatory approval to launch an additional 15,000 satellites to support this expansion. Unlike the current limited system of 650 satellites, the new network promises comprehensive access to video, voice, and data services directly on standard mobile phones without needing extra hardware.
