Tajikistan and Uzbekistan have started the practical implementation of the trial project for the China–Tajikistan–Uzbekistan–Turkmenistan–Iran–Turkey–Europe multimodal transport corridor.
According to the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan, the decision to launch the transport corridor was made following talks between the transport ministers of both countries.
In the first phase, ten fully loaded trucks from Uzbekistan will be sent through Tajikistan to China as a trial.
The parties agreed to jointly begin cargo transportation along the new multimodal corridor and to move the issuance of transportation permits to an electronic format.
This route was first introduced in 2022 at an international conference in Dushanbe dedicated to regional logistics development.
