Sayara Jumanazarowa, teacher at secondary school No. 28 of Charjew etrap: In our wonderful modern era, special emphasis is placed on raising a young generation with a broad outlook and developed intelligence. The work carried out in secondary schools in this regard is commendable and contributes to the growth of our youth's worldview. Primary grades play a crucial role as they represent the first steps in education and form a solid foundation for a student's intellectual development.
Teaching primary school students involves specific methods and approaches. It is essential to capture the students' attention and ensure they approach their lessons with love and diligence. First, comprehensive information about reading and writing in our native language should be provided to foster a love for learning. Simplifying topics to ensure every student masters them yields excellent results.
Mathematics lessons in the 2nd grade are highly important for developing students' calculation skills through various problems and examples. We specifically use multimedia boards to display and count different shapes and images. Students enjoy working with visuals because, in primary grades, images capture their attention and spark interest. Using slides and shapes on multimedia boards is beneficial for teachers to conduct engaging and effective lessons.
We teach how to solve various examples and derive correct results. For instance, a problem from the textbook can be enriched with visuals on a multimedia board:
A hedgehog, a rabbit, and a bear drew 47 circles together. If the hedgehog drew 17 and the rabbit drew 10, how many circles did the bear draw?
To solve this, we set up specific operations: we subtract the 17 circles drawn by the hedgehog from 47, leaving 30. Then, we subtract the 10 circles drawn by the rabbit from 30. The result is 20. Therefore, the bear drew 20 circles. It is necessary to teach both mental and written calculation to develop the student's mind. We format the example as follows:
(47 - 17) - 10 = 30 - 10 = 20
Solving various problems and developing calculation skills in mathematics lessons is of particular importance. This enhances students' intelligence and increases their interest in learning.
