The rich cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, national traditions formed over centuries, and principles of art are developing with a new brilliance in the modern era. The ancient roots of our national culture harmonize with contemporary creativity, occupying an important place in the spiritual life of our country.

The years of independence marked the beginning of a new stage in the development of Turkmen art. Creative directions emerged that express our national spiritual values, folklore, and traditions in a novel way.

In the autumn of 1991, during a festive event held at the sports complex in the city of Ashgabat on the occasion of the glorious holiday of Turkmenistan's Independence, the folklore and dance ensemble of Khojambaz Etrap represented our velayat. In the ensemble's performance titled "Melodies of Independence," the national heritage, vocal and instrumental art, and dance traditions of our people were showcased in a unique harmony.

This performance made a deep impression on the audience and served as an impetus for the emergence of a new direction in Turkmen folklore and dance art. The combination of national motifs, folk dances, and traditions in a modern stage format received high praise from art lovers.

Since then, folklore and dance art has developed even further in our country, becoming one of the effective means of passing down valuable examples of folk art to the younger generation. The creative groups working in this direction widely promote the richness of Turkmen culture, its national characteristics, and spiritual values.

Art serves as a mirror of the people's spiritual world, passing down its history, way of life, and aspirations from generation to generation. Therefore, developing national art, preserving it, and promoting it globally is one of the crucial tasks of our happy era.
