
On February 17, 2026, the feature film "Composer" was screened and an award ceremony was held at the Yashar Kemal Cultural Center in Ankara as part of the Days of Turkmen Cinema held in the Republic of Türkiye. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
Composer Kerim Berdimuhamedov was awarded the special prize "Ganatly altyn bedew" (Winged Golden Stallion) for outstanding achievements in the musical score of cinematographic works. His work was highly appreciated by film industry professionals, critics, and the international cultural community.
Furthermore, the significant contribution of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship to the film was specifically highlighted. The Foundation was awarded the "Uly ganatly bürgüt" (Great Winged Eagle) prize.
The ceremony emphasized the important role of public organizations in developing national culture and art, as well as in supporting talented film directors.
The award ceremony was conducted by the Secretary General of TURKSOY, Sultan Raev, who presented the awards to the creators and partners of the film. On the Turkmen side, the awards were accepted by the Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan, A. Shamuradov.
In his speech, the Minister expressed deep gratitude for the high appreciation of the work of Turkmen cinema figures. The support given to the development of national cinematography by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, was also specifically noted.
The award ceremony demonstrated that modern Turkmen cinema, while preserving national traditions and cultural values, is actively integrating into the international cultural space and making a worthy contribution to the development of world cinematography.
