These days, in our Motherland, which is confidently moving forward on the path of development and creativity during the Era of the Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State, the nomination of candidates—one of the important stages of the election season for the elections to be held on March 29—continues on the basis of openness and with the active participation of the country's citizens.
As is known, the upcoming socio-political event includes elections for members of the halk maslahaty of newly created districts, as well as deputies of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, members of velayat, proud, and city halk maslahaty, and members of Gengesh to replace those who have vacated their seats. The elections, which will be held on the last Sunday of March in the year declared "Turkmenistan — the Land of Prosperity," will be another clear testament to our state's commitment to democratic principles.
In accordance with national electoral legislation and the approved relevant plan, the respective committees of the Democratic Party, the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and the Agrarian Party of the country, as well as groups of citizens, are participating in the nomination of candidates. It should be noted that a citizen of Turkmenistan who has reached the age of 25 by election day and has resided permanently in Turkmenistan for the last ten years can be nominated as a candidate for the Mejlis, while candidates for local halk maslahaty and Gengesh membership must be citizens who have reached the age of 21 and reside permanently in the relevant territory.
At the meetings being held, worthy citizens who have proven their loyalty to the Motherland through their labor and enjoy great respect among the population are being nominated. Speakers highlight the professional excellence, organizational skills, and high spiritual and moral qualities of the candidates, emphasizing their readiness to direct their abilities and knowledge toward the implementation of large-scale state programs. Special attention is paid to observing the principle of broad representation. The nomination of several candidates for each constituency proves that the elections will be held in accordance with the Constitution of Turkmenistan and generally recognized international norms in the field of human rights.
Thus, the upcoming elections will strengthen the foundation of the reform policy initiated by our Hero Arkadag and consistently implemented under the leadership of our esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and will serve as another clear example of the worthy continuation of democratic principles.
