
The President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, held a working meeting with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahallyyev and the governors of the velayats. The meeting addressed issues related to the work being carried out in the country’s agricultural sector and in the regions.
First, the Governor of Ahal Velayat, T. Nurmyradov, was given the floor. He reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural work in the region. As noted, appropriate crop care activities are currently being carried out on wheat-sown fields, in particular, additional fertilization with mineral fertilizers. Within the framework of preparations to lay the foundation for this year’s cotton harvest, land leveling, ridge formation, and enrichment of the soil with mineral fertilizers are ongoing. In order to provide cotton growers with high-quality seeds, work is being carried out to prepare cotton seeds, as well as to repair and properly maintain agricultural machinery and equipment to be used during sowing. Along with these activities, necessary measures are being taken to plow and level areas designated for food crops and to prepare the seeds of these crops for the spring sowing season.
The governor also reported on the progress of construction work at social, cultural, and production facilities planned to be commissioned in the region this year.
Having heard the report, the Head of State emphasized the necessity of strictly observing agrotechnical standards during seasonal agricultural work, particularly in caring for wheat and preparing fields for sowing, and gave the governor specific instructions. The President also instructed to keep under control the timely and high-quality implementation of the work planned for this year in the region in accordance with the country’s socio-economic development programs.
The Governor of Balkan Velayat, H. Ashyrmyradov, reported on the agricultural work being carried out in the region. According to the report, appropriate crop care activities are currently being implemented on wheat-sown fields in compliance with agrotechnical standards, including additional fertilization with mineral fertilizers. On fields designated for cotton sowing for this year’s harvest, land leveling and ridge formation are being carried out, and preparations are underway to ready cotton seeds and agricultural machinery to be used during the spring sowing season. Relevant work is also being performed to prepare fields and seeds for the spring planting of potatoes and vegetable and melon crops.
The governor also reported on the status of construction work at facilities planned to be commissioned in the region this year.
Having heard the report, the Head of State noted the importance of conducting ongoing agrotechnical measures on the region’s agricultural lands in a timely manner and at a high level, and gave the governor a number of specific instructions. The President also instructed to ensure control over the high-quality and timely completion of construction work at various facilities and buildings planned to be commissioned this year within the framework of socio-economic development programs.
The Governor of Dashoguz Velayat, D. Babayev, reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural work in the region. As noted in the report, in order to lay the foundation for this year’s cotton harvest, land leveling and enrichment of soil with mineral fertilizers are being carried out in an organized manner on fields designated for cotton sowing. Necessary measures are being taken to provide cotton growers with high-quality cotton seeds suitable for the region’s soil and climatic conditions, as well as to prepare agricultural machinery and equipment to be used during sowing for the season. In line with the tasks set to further increase the production of food crops in the country, plowing and leveling work is being carried out on areas designated for these crops, and relevant activities to prepare their seeds for sowing are continuing.
In addition, the governor reported on the progress of construction work at facilities planned to be commissioned in the region this year in accordance with the “Program for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country for 2022–2028” and the National Rural Program.
Having heard the report, the President noted that compliance with agrotechnical standards in agricultural work contributes to increasing crop yields and improving their quality, and gave the governor relevant instructions. The Head of State also instructed to keep under control the high-quality implementation of the work planned for this year in the region in accordance with socio-economic development programs.
The Governor of Lebap Velayat, D. Genjiyev, reported on the progress of ongoing seasonal agricultural work in the region. As noted, guided by the objectives set to further strengthen food abundance in the country and to adequately supply the population with grain products, additional fertilization with mineral fertilizers and irrigation are currently being carried out on wheat fields in the region. On fields designated for cotton sowing for this year’s harvest, plowing is at the final stage, while land leveling, harrowing, and leaching irrigation are continuing in a coordinated manner. Necessary measures are being taken to prepare high-quality cotton seeds, as well as agricultural machinery and equipment for the season. Fields designated for spring planting of potatoes and vegetable and melon crops, as well as the seeds of these crops, have been fully prepared for the sowing season.
In addition, in accordance with the “Program for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country for 2022–2028” and the National Rural Program, a report was presented on the status of construction work at facilities planned to be commissioned in the region this year.
Having heard the report, the President noted that adherence to scientifically grounded agrotechnical standards in agricultural production is one of the main conditions for effective farming and gave the governor relevant instructions. The Head of State also instructed to keep under control the high-quality and timely execution of construction work at facilities planned to be commissioned in the region this year.
The Governor of Mary Velayat, D. Annaberdyev, reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural work in the region. As noted, mineral fertilization and irrigation are currently being carried out in a coordinated manner on wheat-sown fields in the region in accordance with agrotechnical standards. In preparation for cotton sowing, plowing, land leveling, and ridge formation are being conducted on fields, and necessary work is underway to fully prepare high-quality cotton seeds and agricultural machinery to be used in spring field operations. Relevant activities are also being carried out to prepare fields and seeds for planting potatoes and vegetable and melon crops, as well as to repair machinery and equipment to be used during sowing. At the same time, necessary measures are being taken to harvest and process the sugar beet crop grown in the region.
In addition, in accordance with the National Rural Program, a report was presented on the status of construction work at facilities planned to be commissioned in the region this year.

Having heard the report, the President emphasized the important role of the agricultural sector in the national economy and noted that the quality of agricultural crops is closely linked to compliance with agrotechnical standards. Therefore, strict observance of these standards is an essential requirement in all agricultural activities, including wheat care and preparation of land for the sowing season, and he gave specific instructions to the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers in this regard.
Then, addressing the participants of the working meeting, the Head of State once again emphasized the importance of the ongoing seasonal work and instructed to ensure that land leveling, ridge formation, and harrowing on cotton-sowing fields are carried out in strict compliance with agrotechnical standards, and that leaching irrigation in Lebap Velayat is properly conducted. He also instructed to ensure the timely and sufficient supply of cotton growers with high-quality cotton seeds, proper preparation of agricultural machinery and equipment to be used in the spring sowing season, timely execution of wheat care and additional fertilization within agrotechnical timeframes, and the rapid and high-quality conduct of the spring sowing of potatoes and vegetable and melon crops with proper preparation of land and seeds.
The President instructed to keep under strict control the harvesting of the sugar beet crop grown in Mary Velayat, as well as the settlement of accounts for completed work between wheat and cotton producers and service organizations and enterprises. At the same time, the Head of State gave relevant instructions to take the necessary measures to ensure the timely and high-quality execution of work at social, cultural, and production facilities being constructed in the regions.
Summing up the working meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished the participants good health, family well-being, and great success in their work.
