The national team of Turkmenistan is performing successfully at the 6th World Nomad Games currently underway in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, bringing its total medal count to 11, MilliInfo reports.
Turkmen athletes have secured 2 gold, 3 silver, and 6 bronze medals.
Gold medals were won by Annagurban Allaberdiyew, competing in national goresh wrestling in the over 100 kg weight category, and Nurmuhammet Baydogdyew, who triumphed in the free-style alyş wrestling in the over 100 kg category.
Silver medals were claimed by Mekan Nurberdiyew (classical alyş, up to 80 kg), Abdyresul Durdiyew (free-style alyş, up to 60 kg), and Silapberdi Nuryyew (free-style alyş, up to 80 kg).
Bronze medals were won by Ilham Kemalov (kurash, over 100 kg), Palwan Gurbangeldiyew (ssirym, over 100 kg), Atageldi Tejendurdyew (Kyrgyz wrestling, up to 84 kg), Serdar Babamyradow (Kazakh wrestling, up to 60 kg), Begli Hojammayyew (belt wrestling, over 100 kg), and Ziyamuhammet Saparow (güeş, over 100 kg).
The 6th World Nomad Games feature over 40 types of ethnosports. More than 3,000 athletes from 109 countries around the globe are participating in this major international sporting event.
Turkmenistan's delegation at the games is represented by 14 athletes and 7 coaches.
