Turkmen karateka won a gold medal in the UAE

Turkmen athlete Jora Ovezmyradov won a gold medal at an international competition held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The international karate-do competition titled "Dubai International Doka Cup 2026" was held under the auspices of the World Karate Federation (WKF) and brought together 697 athletes from 18 countries. Jora Ovezmyradov competed in the kumite category in the weight class up to 55 kg and won the highest award – a gold medal. The winner of the competition is a 12th-grade student at the 52nd specialized secondary school in Ashgabat. He practices karate under the guidance of Aydyn Charyyev, the head coach of the national team of Turkmenistan.
