Turkmen Media Representatives in the USA: A New Era of Digital Journalism
A creative team of media representatives from Turkmenistan is currently on an official working visit to the United States. The visit, which began on May 9, is conducted under the renowned "IVLP" (International Visitor Leadership Program) of the U.S. Department of State.
The core of the program is the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the media industry—one of the most critical issues in modern journalism. The Turkmen delegation includes:
- Specialists from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;
- Representatives of the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH);
- Staff from the State Committee for Television, Radio Broadcasting, and Cinematography.
Organized by the Mississippi Consortium for International Development, this trip allows Turkmen journalists to closely examine the cutting-edge strategies and technological tools used by their American colleagues.
The initial days of the trip were spent in Washington, D.C., where the delegation studied federal approaches to developing AI and regulating its use in journalism. Members focused specifically on how AI facilitates data analysis and information gathering.
The itinerary includes several American cities:
- St. Louis (Missouri): Technological innovations and practical media applications;
- Cincinnati (Ohio): The evolution of digital journalism;
- New Orleans (Louisiana): Creative interactions and media tools.
Continuing until the end of May, this mission is aimed at deeply understanding the impact of AI on mass media. This experience will significantly contribute to the digitalization of the country's press and television sectors, ensuring high-quality and rapid information delivery to the public.
