
Yesterday in Ashgabat, the next round of Turkmen-Russian political consultations took place with the participation of Turkmen Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmet Gurbanov and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
During the consultations, the parties exchanged views on a wide range of issues concerning the development of bilateral relations. The steady strengthening of friendly and trust-based relations of strategic importance between the two countries was emphasized.
It was also noted with satisfaction that Turkmen-Russian cooperation is developing effectively not only bilaterally but also in a multilateral format. As clear evidence, attention was drawn to effective cooperation within the United Nations and the Commonwealth of Independent States. The importance of the “Central Asia — Russia” cooperation format was also highlighted.
Diplomats confirmed their interest in further strengthening the dialogue between the foreign ministries of the two countries in accordance with the Turkmen-Russian Cooperation Program for 2025–2026.
The parties also addressed issues of regional security and stability.
